The idea is quieter than a social feed: choose a photograph, set a line you love, add a dedication and send the finished piece with one private link. No account is needed to start composing, and making and giving a piece is free.

The live site has a composer that works with your own photograph or one from the house library, six short questions for anyone unsure where to begin, a Wall where pieces can hang if both people agree, open photographs posted for someone else to write the words, and a quieter room called the Porchlight. Uploaded photographs are checked for quality, and nothing is public unless both people agree.

The editor grew out of the canvas editor we first built for Make-a.meme, with a new identity of warm neutrals and classic serif lettering. A Next.js front end sits on a Django back end that handles accounts, uploads and moderation, with automatic data retention rules and database backups to cloud storage.
